Anyway, hung out with Lizard, Dee and Eunice yesterday and exchanged Christmas presents.
I found this totally INVENTIVE, HILARIOUS, AMUSING toy in China! Oh my god, I couldn't resist, I had to buy the pig version for Dee and buy a tomato version for myself ^^ And they're only 3RMB each!

Here's how the toy works: (Sorry for the lousy resolution)

That’s Eunice screaming in the background. Amusing right?!!? HAHA! Speaking of China, my trip was alright.
I learned a bit more about China’s history, a good thing, but the people were rude as hell. Smoke like hell too.

I never knew that flagging cabs was a snatching matter, I mean, seriously.
We learned our lesson on the 2nd day, when we tried to flag a cab on the street. A cab stopped for us. It was pretty obvious that we were gonna board the taxi because, oh I don’t know, we were standing right in front of it?

Little did I know that in China, standing in front of the taxi doors indicates nothing.
Because a dude came running along and we, flabbergasted, watched him slip into the taxi. He never once made eye contact with us, which I infer as a sign that he’s a coward. I mean, if you’re gonna steal a cab, at least acknowledge it.

So my parents obviously asked him what the hell he was doing.
He looked up, smiled his phony smile and said, “Bu hao yi si hor, bu hao yi si,” (An apology in Mandarin) and drove off with his rude, cowardly little ass.

BU HAO YI SI MY ASS!

I nearly wanted to pick up a stone, chuck it at his head and ask calmly, “Are you a total idiot?”
But obviously I wasn’t gonna fight with China people, they’re unpredictable people.

After that incident, we learned that when flagging a taxi, we had to hold onto the door handles so that no one could steal the cab.

But the good thing about cabs there is that the fare is insanely cheap, compared to Singapore.
The basic fee is 11RMB already, which is about SGD1.80, and a trip which would normally chalk up to SGD9.00 would cost only 15 RMB, which is SGD3.00. Oh my god! Total cab heaven.

Another thing was their excessive smoking. They simply just could not stop smoking! Smoking was like breathing to them, which is pretty ironic. Whenever we were in restaurants, there always would be a few men smoking and eating at the same time. They were literally alternating between chewing their food and smoking.

As I recall, I was defending China in one of my previous posts because for the Chinese, it’s where we come from, so we shouldn’t try to peel it away from ourselves. I still stand by that statement. Hating the people there is well, inevitable, but we still have to accept it as our country.

[P.S: Watch the video if you haven't!!]
