Holy Crap!

To kick off my “studying”, I decided to read the lit text “Herland”.
I was looking forward to the author’s explanation as to how the population, made purely of women, could reproduce children.

Her explanation was more or less like, the community of women wished really, really hard for babies; so a woman popped out 5 female babies from her womb, just like that. (Uncannily similar to my mentality about where babies came from when I was 5 years old. I had thought that couples wished very hard to God for the wife to be pregnant, and poof)

Unsatisfied with this explanation (well duh), I wiki-ed it.

Holy crap! So it is possible! (Not the wishing part though)

Deciphering Rap Music

There’s this rap/R&B/whatever song which I’m sure all of you have heard before. Every bloody store plays that song. The things is that this song has the miraculous ability to confuzzle me to no end, because no matter how hard I try, I just can’t decipher what that idiot of a singer/rapper is saying. I can’t fathom anyone for that matter understanding the song.

So this idiot repeats this one word a lot in the chorus. For the life of me, I can’t hear what it is, but after the 2847th time I heard the song, I concluded that the guy must either be saying, “Danger”, “Player” or “Nigger” in a really nasal voice.

The line usually goes (to my ears), ” *nasal mumbling* *nasal mumbling* *nasal mumbling* party party *nasal mumbling* Danger/Player/Nigger x10 *nasal mumbling* ”

Yesterday at Guess, it played for the 2848th time, and I was about ready to snap. So I asked Priscilla and Huangyi what the fuck this guy is saying. Turns out he’s saying:
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
“AIR.”

“WHAT THE SHIT,” was my reaction.
Apparently he’s saying something about throwing you hands in the air.
At least I got the “party” part right.

Deciphering songs like these is like undergoing a H3 course in rap music lah. Can’t take it.
