Free from Shackles!
Well it’s official – my teeth are finally free from its cruel metal shackles!
Instead, I’ll be a retainer face pretty soon, so I’m enjoying my free teeth for the time being. It felt so incredibly weird when they were taken off – I felt like a 100 year old grandma with no teeth. The brackets on your teeth pushes your lips out so your lips don’t really feel your gums for 2 whole years, but now that the brackets are gone, my lips and gums are in direct contact all the time so all I’m feeling are my gums actually. I’ve missed you, dear gums!
By the way, why is the word ‘gums’ being underlined in red while I’m typing this? I’m pretty sure the word ‘gums’ exists right?
I’m very tired of listening to people complain about their good, no scratch that, fantastic marks that they had gotten for their exams.
“Wah lau, 80 is so low leh,” or “Eh it’s not high okay, I got so many careless mistakes!” or “Aiyah, this idiot in my class got 91 okay! I so wanted to beat him!” and the works. They’re just boasting about their good results in the disguise of a complaint, as Joyin said.
The typical response from people listening to this complaint would be, “Hello, you got 80 okay, that’s damn good, I only got 60!” which is exactly what they want to hear because it feeds their ego like a monkey being fed 30 bananas. I suggest this response:
Asshole: Ugh, I could’ve gotten 90 instead of 80 if I didn’t have so many careless mistakes!
Suggested response: Yeah I know what you mean, 80 marks upon 100?! That’s like, unheard of, man. I mean, that’s like so many questions done wrong lah. My class’s average is 87, so you better buck up. I think you might retain.
I’d like to see their faces if I said that.
